Danaé
L’homme mit d’abord sa femme au sommet d’une tour d’airain dont le toit s’ouvrait sur le ciel afin que l’air et la
lumière puissent y pénétrer, et il l’y enferma. Et ainsi Danaé, la toute belle, passa de la lumière heureuse du
jour à des murs d’airain, et dans cette chambre secrète et close, elle vécut en captivité. Mais un jour, elle reçu la visite de Zeus dans sa pluie d’or. Tombant du ciel, une averse d’or remplit
sa chambre. C’est de cette rencontre magique que naquit l’enfant. Plus tard, l’homme placa la femme et l’enfant dans un grand coffre de bois et les jetant à la mer, il s’en débarrassa. Danaé et son
petit garçon voguèrent donc à la dérive, écoutant le bruit des eaux…
